Fire Chief Ryan Sonnek is justifiably proud of the 24 member all Volunteer Fire Department serving the community. The challenge for rural firefighters is getting enough water to the site of the fire. The Easton Department has 6 trucks. The main truck is a 1,000 gallon pumper. The secondary truck has a 250 gallon capacity with an 800 gallon tank. The Easton Fire Department has a new grass rig which is able to pump and move when there is a peat slough fire or grass fire. This rig has a 50 gallon per minute pump and holds 300 gallons of water. The crew also goes out with 2 tankers that have 3,500 gallons and 5,000 gallon capacities. Easton has mutual aid contracts with all rural fire departments in Faribault County.
